Commemoration of Equal Pay Day

Date: April 1, 2019 Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Event Description Equal Pay Day symbolizes how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year. Women need to work an extra 3 months to earn what a man earned. Join Bozeman Business & Professional Women and the City of Bozeman on Monday, April 1st at 6:00pm at City Hall (121 N. Rouse) for our collaborative commemoration of Equal Pay Day and the City’s presentation on strategies to close the pay gap in Bozeman. Currently, Montana women with the same education, in the same occupation, still see an average pay difference of roughly 80 cents to every dollar a man makes. The wage difference for women of color is significantly higher across the board. (Hispanic women make 54 cents to the white man’s dollar, Black women – 62 cents, Native Hawaiian women – 62 cents, and Native American women – 58 cents to the white man’s dollar.)
